TWIG WCHOB

Who are the TWIG’s of Western New York?

logoTWIG (nationwide) stands for Together With Individual Goals. The WNY Group is made up of local women who want to help make a difference at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. TWIGs is a branch of the Women & Children’s Hospital Foundation, made of up 8 groups (named after trees): Blue Spruce, Cherry Blossom, Elm, Hydrangea, Jasmine, Lilac, Magnolia, and Willow Oaks. At present, there are over 100 members whose enthusiasm is growing by the minute.

TWIGs raise money for the Hospital through activities like the American Girl Fashion Show, Lunch with Barbie™ and Shopping Extravaganzas, just to name a few. They provide craft items for Child Life’s Play & Preparation Program and clothing for the Emergency Room Clothes Closet.

Last year the TWIG groups together raised over $100,000.00 to be used for equipment at Women & Children’s Hospital. This money was used to purchase:

It was a busy spring as TWIG (Together with Individual Goals) volunteers held their annual luncheon and presentation.  Kaleida Health Senior Vice President of Operations and Women & Children’s Hospital President, Cheryl Klass and the leadership team accept a donation of $100,000.  Monies will be used to purchase equipment for the Neonatal Transport Team, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Surgery Unit.  As has been a tradition since the group’s inception in 1978, a gift was made to the Child Life Department in support of their work directly with patients and families
