2009 KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon Signs-Off
with $310,669 Raised after Three Days On the Air
The annual KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon, which aired Thursday, Jan 29 – Saturday, January 31 on WKSE-FM Radio, KISS 98.5, announced it raised $310,669 in pledges during three days on the air to benefit Women & Children’s Hospital.
“The KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon has had an immeasurably positive impact on the lives of countless children and their families throughout Western New York,” said Cheryl Klass, RN, MBA, President, Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. “On behalf of these families, we are so thankful to Janet, Nick, Wease, and the entire team at KISS 98.5 and Entercom Radio who worked tirelessly throughout the entire three-day event filled with compelling and often emotional stories of patients with their families, physicians and other caregivers at Women & Children’s Hospital.”
Broadcasting live from the Women & Children’s Hospital, KISS 98.5 Morning Show hosts Janet, Nick & Wease invited listeners to pledge donations by calling phone lines staffed by volunteers from Tops Markets, Teamsters, Tim Horton’s, AAA, Kohl’s Department Stores, Wilson Farms, First Niagara and Wal-Mart/ Sam’s Club.
Proceeds from the radiothon will go toward the purchase of a $1.5 million dollar CT Scanner.
The KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon is coordinated with the Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for local children’s hospitals across North America. One hundred percent of the proceeds generated during this Radiothon will benefit Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
During it’s six year history the radiothon has raised over 1.7 million for the hospital..
Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, a Kaleida Health facility, is the regional center for comprehensive and state-of-the-art pediatric, perinatal and obstetrical services in Western New York.
